Our Natural Resource Experience

Lear & Lear practices in front of local, state and federal administrative agencies courts and governing commissions and can provide comprehensive services relating to regulatory matters and permitting as well as litigation services from the simple to the complex.

Lear & Lear has extensive experience rendering mineral title opinions, status reports, apparent ownership take-off, and other reports. Lear & Lear attorneys work from abstracts of title or from their own stand-up searches. We have rendered opinions throughout the Rocky Mountain West, Eastern States, the Southwest and Texas covering federal, Indian, state, and private lands. The scope of work often includes complex title examination; company data room examination, traditional federal, Indian, and county title searches; permits, approvals, and regulatory compliance searches; and water rights verification, application, and permitting.

Should the need arise, Lear & Lear also has served its clients by providing title curative services. Once having identified issues as part of our title analysis process, we are also prepared to eliminate title defects by working to remedy identified problems to bring title to a standard that will allow for acquisition or development. Our curative work includes quiet title actions, eminent domain proceedings, probate work and other title adjustments as required by the circumstances.
